About this list
For many Warsaw clubs, a tournament on the FIDE list is the plainest sign of life. UKSz Hetman files weekly rapid, blitz and classical events, YMCA Warsaw Center plays long seasonal tournaments at ninety minutes plus thirty seconds a move, UKS Caissa holds open championships in Mokotów and UKS Twierdza Mokotów runs a cup and category events. KSz Polonia Warszawa organises the Independence Tournament, and KSz SzachMatek a grand prix of club tournaments, with a club championship once played in Zielonka.
Junior clubs reach rated play through their own opens and through the Mazovian championships: UKS Sparta Białołęka has open rapid and blitz championships in spring, Zugzwang, Gambit Wesoła, Wściekła Wieża, Ursynów, Żagle and Ogród Jordanowski appear in the youth olympiad standings. Outside the city, Król Batory holds classical FIDE tournaments in Otwock, Szachowa Dwójka a junior championship in Grodzisk Mazowiecki, Sternik the Pruszków rapid open and Laura its Szachylicki Open in Chylice.
